ho-ho-holidays
I've had this picture for months and only realized right now that they are wearing paper bags on their heads. Ha!New Year's was lovely, just me and S and a couple of bottles of wine, some fancy salted nuts and some roasted garlic and brie and crackers. Couldn't find an official Saskatchewan countdown to save our lives so we guessed and got it bang on. I was very glad to be able to stay home with him and not venture out into the madness. I'm on holidays this week because it seemed ridiculous to not take 4 days holidays and get 9 days off in exchange... you gotta love the stats, man. We're thinking about finishing my attic, which means learning how to drywall, which means... well, learning how to drywall. And figuring out if the insulation and vapour barrier that is up there is sufficiently done, or needs to be fixed/ripped out and rehung. Yikes.
We played a rousing game of scrabble first thing New Year's Morning and the word "asteroid" got played fairly shortly into the game. I then spent a long time thinking about how to play off of it, which has now developed into a whole line of asteroid jokes.
What do you call an asteroid who wins the marathon race?
A fasteroid.
What do you call an asteroid who loses the marathon race?
A lasteroid.
What do you call an asteroid with a broken arm?
A casteroid.
What do you call an asteroid with dreadlocks?
A rastaroid.
What do you call an asteroid DJ?
A bombasteroid.
What do you call an asteroid who can't believe what is happening?
An aghasteroid.
What do you call an asteroid at the amusement park?
An all-day-passteroid.
What do you call an asteroid who likes high speed internet?
A comcasteroid.
What do you call an asteroid that's come to a dead end?
An impasstroid.
And my personal favourite, punchline courtesy of my mother...
What do you call an asteroid who loves attending church?
A cleric. (No mom! It's a massteroid! Do you get the line of humour here?)
So yeah, don't steal them. I'm planning on writing a children's book. Pure gold.
